We're introducing a new section on our website, In Memory Of, where you can write a memorial and include a photo. For a $50 donation your memorial will remain on the website permanently.

We also have plans to begin a Pet Bereavement Program in the near future.

Right now, this 22-year-old charity only helps in Northern Nevada and Alachua County Florida, but in 2026, we’re dreaming bigger:

  • Expansion: Raising funds to bring our services to more states.

  • Stories: Building a community of animal lovers nationwide.

  • Impact: Strengthening our grants for major surgeries.

Shakespeare Animal Fund helps pet owners in crisis get the veterinary care their beloved companions need when they can’t afford it. Founded in memory of a cherished Cocker Spaniel named Shakespeare, the nonprofit provides financial assistance and compassion to families facing unexpected medical emergencies with their pets.

Shakespeare Animal Fund has been helping animals for 21 years by paying emergency veterinary bills when their owners can’t afford it, and we just keep growing. Our next project in both Northern Nevada and Alachua County Florida, is to raise enough funds to offer more than our standard $100 to help with surgeries and more expensive procedures.
