Shakespeare Updates:

CFF, New Board, Bad Guys and Halloween Howl

Thank you for supporting Shakespeare Animal Fund; we’re excited about all we’re doing to make this the best year ever in terms of helping animals. For example:

  • We’ve worked hard with the Animal Welfare Fund to become part of the Consolidated Federal Funds initiative. Considered the United Way of government agencies, we’re very pleased to begin receiving funds from CFF later in the year.
  • New board members give life to any organization, and we’re actively recruiting for several board positions at this time. Many things at Shakespeare are ongoing, like our grant writing efforts, our relationship with Amazon Smiles and our focus on keeping our name awareness in the community.
  • Our fund raising event this year, to be held sometime in October, is Halloween Howl, and we’re starting work now to ensure it’s a great success. In the past it’s been our most popular fund-raiser complete with costumed dog contests and prizes, vendors, silent auction, raffle, games, food and entertainment. More on this later.

One disappoint, we discovered yesterday that someone had written close to $3,600 in bad checks from our account, but we will be reimbursed within a few days. Who, you might ask, would ever stoop so low as to steal money from a non-profit helping the elderly and disabled? We guess there are always a few bad guys around.

As always, we are open to all your ideas to help us grow. And of course if you would like (or know someone who might like) more information on board positions we can send you requirements and position descriptions.
